T-Minus One week and counting!

In less than a week, I will be a whole year old! WOW! Mommy and daddy are planning a big to-do for me for my birthday and I'm looking forward to being the center of attention (like I'm not already) and seeing my friends and family all together in one place. Papa Johnson (AKA GrampArt) is even going to come all the way from Washington!

Anyway, it's been almost a whole year since I've been on this world and I'm really looking forward to many, many more!

I'm 10 months old today! And I'm sick.

Mommy stayed up all night with me last night because I couldn't breathe very well asleep in my crib, so we hung out in the recliner so I could get some shut-eye.

Other than that, I'm doing pretty well! I'm growing like a weed, starting to crawl (daddy calls it a military crawl, whatever that means), and eating even more solid foods!

Today is my GrampArt's 60th birthday! 60 is a really big number for a little girl like me, it doesn't even register in my little brain!

I get to see GrampArt in a week when he comes down to visit mommy, daddy and me and I'm really looking forward to playing with him and showing him all the cool things that I've learned sisnce we last saw each other. Like the fact that I clap now!

Eating Sweet Potatoes

It's been a long time since I've posted anything and I apologize for that. I've been so darn busy growing up (and daddy's been so darn lazy) that this blog's been ignored.

I'm finally starting to eat solid foods, daddy gave me some sweet potatoes last night and I ate the whole container in one sitting! Daddy was so happy, he took pictures and shot video of me eating like a big girl.

I'm really starting to get a hang of this food thing and should start filling out once I'm finally doing it on a regular basis.

I'm also getting teeth! I've got two teeth coming in in the bottom-front of my mouth. Daddy says I'm not too grouchy about it, but I'm hurting mommy sometimes when she breast feeds me...

Here's a picture of me and daddy on the 4th of July. I've had a pretty exciting last few weeks, sorry for not updating sooner.

Daddy's parents were in town the end of June and I got to hang out with them and aunt Scooter (their dog) for a three-day weekend. I also got to meet my great-aunt Gerri too. IT was nice to meet her and I gave her and GraMarg and GrampArt plenty of smiles and hugs.

We spent the 4th with Gramma and Grandpa H, uncle Greg and aunt Sue. After dinner, we went home and I got to watch the people across the street light fireworks. Mommy and daddy thought that I'd be scared by the fireworks but I really liked them. They were very bright and colorful.

Holding Hands Again at Starbucks

Daddy took me to Starbucks on Saturday so we could get out of mommy's hair for a while and he took this picture of us holding hands.

Yesterday was Father's Day and mommy and I got daddy some pretty cool stuff. We got him some shirts and a really nice pair of "casual" pants to name but a few. Mommy also promised daddy a new BBQ, he gets to pick it out and then we'll all go out and buy it. He's having a hard time figuring out which one he likes though, so it could be a while until he actually gets it.

I got to spend Father's day with my Grandpa H too. He's a really fun guy and I like hanging out with him when I get the chance. GraMarg and GranpArt are coming over to see us this weekend and we should have a very good time there too. We're going to see my cousin Brooke and her family on Saturday and then to see my great-great aund Gerry on Monday up in Napa. That should be fun too!

Wow! I had a great time yesterday visiting with Aunt Amy and Uncle Kishore yesterday! We went out for dinner and then hanged out at home for a while. It took me a little bit of time to get used to Uncle Kishore, but once I did, we had a blast.

Aunt Amy was playing with me by walking up to me and kissing my knee. I had so much fun playing I started to laugh harder than I've ever laughed before! I've sort of chuckled before, but she made me so happy I was letting out great big belly laughs! Mommy and daddy were very impressed and said that I've reached another "milestone" in my development. Whatever that means...

Mommy daddy and I went to our friends Lance, Tina, Jenna, Isabella and Maya's house today for a little BBQ and Maya and I got to play for a while on the floor.

Maya's only a month old, so we didn't get to do too much, but Uncle Lance took some really good pictures. Here's me and Maya hamming it up for the camera. I'm actually smiling for daddy to my left, but Uncle Lance took all the good pictures.

Wow, what a loooong three-day weekend! On Sunday mommy daddy and I went to Modesto to visit with my cousins, I got to see Brooke and Jack again and we had a good time playing. Here's a picture of Brooke and me holding hands:

Then, yesterday, we went over to see my grandma and grandpa H in Fremont. We were there for a pretty long time and I was pretty tired. When we got home though, I wasn't ready to go to bed yet, so mommy and I stayed up until almost midnight! I finally went to bed and slept the whole night through! I didn't get out of bed until almost 9:00 this morning!

Let's see, what else is going on? Oh yeah, I'm eating rice cereal now, kinda. I'm not really a big fan of it yet, but mommy and daddy think that it's just a matter of time before I get this whole "eating" thing down.

I'm standing up like a big girl too, with almost no help from mommy and daddy. They need to help me get onto my feet, but once I am, they just need to help me balance.

I get to see my GrandMarg and GrampArt in a few weeks, and am really looking forward to that. Oh, and daddy and mommy's friends Lance and Tina had a little girl a few weeks ago, her name is Maya ans she's almost as pretty as I am! Daddy's friends Tom and Michelle are having a baby pretty soon too, I can't wait to meet him and I know that Auntie Judy is really looking forward to having a little grandbaby!

Another milestone has been reached according to my daddy. I've been trying to tell them for weeks that my mouth hurts, daddy says that I'm "teething" which means that my teeth are coming out of my mouth. It hurts. Bad.

Mommy and daddy have started to give me frozen washcloths, which helps a lot.

I've also started "talking" to mommy and daddy. They call it "cooing," but god-damnit, I'm actually talking to them. How hard is it to understand "I'm hungry" or "my mouth hurts" or "I'm dirty, clean me!" when I talk to them?

I guess I'll have to work on pronouncing words better so I can get my point across.

Oh yeah, this picture here? The one of me smiling and eating my hand? Mommy thought it would be cute to sit me on the couch while she went to the bathroom. Daddy got me to smile and then took a picture of me.

12 Weeks Old Today!

I'm 12 weeks old today! I'll be three months old next week, but I sure am having a good time holding my head up, smiling and learning to push myself up with my arms when I'm lying on my tummy. I can tell who people are and am very attached to my mommy. When daddy's holding me and mommy walks away, I crane my neck as far as I can to watch her as she walks away. I miss my mommy when she's away too, daddy tries to make me feel better, but there's nothing like my mommy's arms to make me feel better.

Daddy has been taking me on drives at night too, I love being in the car and I usually fall right to sleep once we get moving.

All in all, I'd say that my parents are definately keepers. I think I'll give this sitting up thing a try soon and see how that goes for me.

Here I am for my very first Easter! I had a little "accident" after I ate (thus the wet top), but I really enjoyed meeting my cousins when mommy, daddy and I went to Menlo Park to visit for Easter brunch. Mommy and daddy ate too much, but it was great hanging out with my cousins.

That's me and my cousin Shannon. She's almost a teenager now. I wonder what that will be like? I've got a long, long way to go before that happens though.

I'm smiling now, which causes great joy for my parents, lemme tell ya. All they do is try to cajole smiles out of me all day. I'm pretty stingy with them, but mommy and daddy are very very happy when I grace them with smiles. They get all exited and tell me that I'm a good girl. Well, of course I'm a good girl... I don't know what their problems are...

(By the way, don't tell mommy, but daddy gave me some Peeps sugar yesterday. He didn't give me the whole Peep, just some of the sugar ((you know, the yellow stuff)) from it. I REALLY like sugar!)

Five Weeks Old!

I'm five weeks old this week and am growing like a little weed accurding to my daddy. He says that I'm finally above birth weight and that he and mommy aren't as worried about that any more. I'm starting to enjoy my baths more now and it's a "special time" for daddy and me to hang out when he washes my hair and gives me a good scrubbing with my washcloth. He even gets the spot under my chin where milk gets sometimes and starts to stink...

Daddy says that I got some very nice stationary from one of his customers named Scott and his wife Ellen from LA. Daddy says they're very nice people for doing that and we sent them a card thanking them for the nice gift.

Also, we spent most of the day today at uncle Lance and Aunt Tina's house today hanging out with their daughters Jenna and Isabella.

We all had a very good time there and mommy and daddy even got to take some homemade tamales home with them! Daddy loves tamales!

I Finally Met my Grandma!

Mommy took this picture of me last night in my cute little Valentine's Day outfit. I wasn't really a big fan of the outfit (I prefer loose-fitting clothes) and put up quite a fuss when daddy was helping me get dressed, but he was able to calm me down after a little bit of time so mommy could snap this picture.

I also took my first "real" bath last night. Mommy and daddy broke out the baby bathtub and I got a good cleaning. Until yesterday, I've been getting sponge baths. I can't say that I'm a big fan of baths yet, but mommy and daddy think that it's just a matter of time until I am comfortable in the water.

Two Weeks Old!

Apparently, I'm pretty popular. Auntie Judy asked my daddy when I was going to post again. He motivated me to get off my lazy pooping bottom and have him transcribe for me, so here we go.

I don't do nights. At all. I cry all the time and it drives mommy and daddy a little "batty" according to daddy. The only time I'm not screaming is when I'm eating. As daddy says, "good times."

Not that he or mommy are mad at me about it. They know it's not my fault that my clock's all screwy and stuff, I'll come around to the right schedule eventually.

Daddy keeps telling me how cute I am. If he's not careful, I'm going to get an over-inflated ego! Here's a recent picture of me and daddy:

Anyway, I turned two weeks old on Friday and mommy and daddy are getting into the schedule that I'm setting. It took them long enough...

One Week Old!

Today is the one-week anniversary of the day I was born. Let me tell you about the timeline so far:

Friday the 21st of January, 12:00 Midnight: Mommy's water breaks
Friday the 21st of January, 1:30 AM: Mommy wakes up daddy and we go to the hospital
Friday the 21st of January, 2:00 AM: Mommy and daddy get to the hospital and check into the triage area to see how I'm doing.
Friday the 21st of January, 2:30 AM: Mommy and daddy get into the birthing suite. Daddy's a little bummed out because there's no chair-that-turns-into-a-bed thingy. He said he was happy that he brought his sleeping bag.
Friday the 21st of January, 6:00 AM: Daddy goes to get himself some breakfast at the Hick'ry Pit next door to the hospital. He said it gave him heartburn, whatever that is.
Friday the 21st of January, 10:00 AM: After eight hours of nothing really happening, mommy decides that she wants to get Pitossin to help me come out faster because, since the water broke, I could get an infection if I don't come soon.
Friday the 21st of January, 12:00 Noon: Mommy and daddy are getting very anxious to see me. Daddy went down to the cafeteria to get some lunch. He said when he got back, mommy was in a lot of pain from contractions.
Friday the 21st of January, 2:00 PM: Mommy decided that the pain was too much, so she wanted to get an epideral to help relieve the labor pains. It took her a long time to decide to do it, but she made the right choice.
Friday the 21st of January, 3:30 PM: Mommy's cervix expands really big. She went from 4-5 cm to 8-9 cm very very quickly. That meant that I was coming soon! Pretty soon, mommy started pushing.
Friday the 21st of January, 4:51 PM: After just over an hour of pushing, I was born. Mommy says that daddy was pretty good in his bedside manner and he didn't throw up or anything when she was pushing me out. Daddy says he's a "wussy" but for some reason he was very excited to watch the process of me being born.

I weighed seven pounds, 12 ounces and was 20 inches long when I was born. I have five fingers and toes on each hand and foot and didn't even have a conehead!

I'm pretty tired now, and daddy wants me to take a nap, so I'm going to take off now. Bye!

Well, I'm almost a week old now and am growing very fast. I spend the majority of my time sleeping and eating, but daddy says that I must be a night owl because all I do is hoot and hollar at night. I can't help it, I'm very very small.

Daddy's going to try to help me update this site frequently, but he said no promises since I keep him up so late that he gets "groggy." Whatever that means.
